What's next?
Been thinking about what I wanna do next with my biz over the next few months.
I actually had a “moment” last week where I was like
“OK, we hit $100k. Now what? What do I do from here?”
And, for a bit, I drew a blank.
But then I looked around the Twitter ecosphere and it hit me like a lightbulb.
There’s SO many bad products on the market right now.
If you’ve ever bought a course, joined a community, or entered a coaching program with someone (only to realise they’re utterly winging it), you’ll know what I’m talking about.
And therein lies the opportunity:
Build a better product than everyone else.
I want to build a GENUINELY exceptional product so that as soon as a client (whether DFY or DWY joins with me), they have quite literally EVERYTHING they need to get up and running from Day 1.
This is gonna take some time.
And I’m already in talks with a few big creators (who you almost certainly know) to figure out their biggest bottlenecks and how I can ease their pain.
But I’m gonna devote the next few months to improving every system inside my business, solving my OWN problems, and then sharing my solutions with you to make your lives as seamless as possible.
For example…
If you’ve ever hosted a workshop, you will know that creating the workshop is actually the EASY part.
It’s not THAT hard to write a decent sales doc.
And it’s not THAT hard to put all your knowledge down on paper, and share that with the people who have signed up.
No. The HARD part is all the “fluff” that happens around.
What happens when people pay?
How do you systemise the delivery of the workshop?
The follow-ups?
The testimonial collection?
These are all the (frankly) pain in the ass jobs I’ve always done manually in the past.
And it eats into your valuable time.
So, yesterday, I spent the day building out a simple workflow and setting up Zapier integrations to make this as seamless as possible for myself (and anyone else who later wants access to the system).
And this is nice.
Because it now means that as soon as a client signs with me, they can literally run through all the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) I’ve written up, and have a fully functional workshop up-and-running within a couple hours max (rather than dicking around with adding people to the invite list, chasing for testimonials manually etc) and then use this to sign higher-ticket offers on the backend.
And that’s the point —
Systems SCALE.
If you want to build a REAL business, one which you can take to consistent $30k-$50k/months (like I plan to), you need to have these backend processes in place.
This is the boring shit.
This is the stuff no-one else wants to do.
But, fortunately, my background in Software Engineering has gotten me pretty dang good at building stuff like this.
So, that’s the plan for the next few months:
Pour literally ALL of my energy into building the best client acquisition/retention product on the market.
And when I’m ready.
When I’ve got something I’m TRULY proud of.
I’ll share it with you.
Will keep you posted in the meantime, of course.
And hopefully it’ll make your life as a creator, coach, consultant, freelancer, or whatever other business YOU’RE building just that little bit easier.
I’ve got all the knowledge.
Just need to put it down on paper for ya now.
Stay tuned.
Harry
