Unfiltered insights into my next 4-6 weeks (as a full-time creator)

Just been reading through my email responses from you guys:

And one of them caught my eye…

===============================

“Also, I was asked a few days ago what you were doing from a couple of friends… (idk why they asked me)

what are you up to these days?”

===============================

And as I read this, 2 things came to mind:

  1. It’s super nice that people are genuinely curious what I’m working on (if you’d have told me 6-7 months ago people would care about what I’m creating, I’d have laughed in your face)

  2. This is a big problem

Why do I say this is a problem?

Because I’m building a personal brand.

And if you don’t know what I’m working on, then I’m not doing my job right.

After all…

My goal is to be as fully transparent with you as possible (it’s one of the reasons I try to make these emails as valuable as possible - because I don’t want to be just another guy in your inbox who “teases” you with value. I want to give you REAL insights).

And I also don’t like it when creators give you a big picture overview of what they’re working on but leave out the details (you know, the things you’re ACTUALLY interested in and will HELP you build your own brand).

So…

I want to give you some unfiltered insights into what I’ve got planned for my brand over the next 4-6 weeks.

But first…

What’s the ONE big project I’m working on right now?

My flagship course.

In case you aren’t aware:

I am building a copywriting course specifically for content creators who are building their personal brand.

Why?

Because, as far as I could tell, all the copywriting courses out there are generic AF. Do you really care about how to write DTC copy like all the other courses teach?

Or…

Do you want to learn how to write copy specifically tailored to social media and growing your audience as fast as possible based on the strategies which work TODAY (rather than 2-3 years ago when the algo was completely different).

If you’re like me, the answer is door number 2.

So…

That is my primary focus.

Building a copywriting course specifically tailored to YOU and YOUR brand.

And when I’m working on a big project, here’s the ONE question I ask myself:"

What is the ONE action I can take today to get 1% better?
(learned this from one of my copywriting clients, actually)

That is my goal.

So, with that in mind…

Here’s the FULL day-by-day breakdown of all the “1% Better” daily actions I’ll be taking as I go into this launch.

Let’s dive in, shall we?

Phase #1: Landing Page Drafting

For context: My first draft of the course is complete. So for the next 1-2 weeks I’m focusing on building the landing page so I can getting people on the waitlist. After that, I’ll focus on beta testing.

Jul 10: Finalise the landing page “flow” (i.e. how I take people from the headline to the CTA).
Jul 11: Write the lead (part 1).
Jul 12: Write the lead (part 2).
Jul 13: Write the Core Benefits and Price Reveal sections.
Jul 14: Write the Bonus and Risk Reversal sections.
Jul 15: Write the FAQs.
Jul 16: Write the “close”.
Jul 17: Gather all existing proof and scatter throughout the page.
Jul 18: Fine-tune the flow.
Jul 19: Set up waitlist logistics.

Phase #2: Data Gathering

Now it’s time to start getting people on the waitlist and gathering initial feedback on the course so I can make it as useful to you as physically possible.

Jul 21: Waitlist opens.
Jul 22: Reach out to my network for character testimonials for course landing page.
Jul 23: Reach out to beta testers for each individual module (including bonuses) so I can improve these based on real data.
Jul 24: Start collecting written and video client testimonials.
Jul 24-27: Birthday weekend (24th). Won’t be doing any work here. No point pretending.
Jul 28: Follow-ups on testimonials (people will inevitably need some prompting).
Jul 29-31: Updates to course based on beta testing feedback.

Phase #3: Launch sequence and fine-tuning

Finally, we start thinking about the launch logistics…

Aug 1-15: Email launch sequence begins (I’m still dialling in the details of this).

But while I’m doing the email sequence, I’ll also be working on this…

Aug 1: Stack character testimonials and client testimonials on page.
Aug 2: Add the testimonial wall to the sales page (does anyone ever read these? I know I don’t, lol).
Aug 3-5: Set up the checkout page and buy the course myself to check everything flows through as expected. (I hate doing stuff like this so I want to get it out the way early and avoid any last-minute dramas).
Aug 6: Film VSL and add to landing page.
Aug 7-8: Collect any remaining testimonials and finalise course based on beta testing feedback.
Aug 9-11: Film all video tutorials for the course (I think I explain stuff pretty clearly written down, but there’s just something about hearing someone’s voice on camera that helps the lessons sink in - I want you to get as much insight from this course as possible). I’ve also saved these til the end because, obviously, I can’t film the videos until everything in the course is dialled in.
Aug 12: Full run-through of the course to check everything is working as expected. No turning back now…
Aug 13: Waitlist officially closes. T-48hr email. Reach out to network to help spread the word.
Aug 14: T-24hr email.
Aug 15: Course launch. Launch email. Launch tweet. Notify network, yada yada.

And then I’ll work out all the post-launch shit (saving that til closer to the time).

Now…

Will this schedule will change as, inevitably, things don’t go as planned?

Absolutely?

Is this a perfect launch plan?

I dunno. Feels pretty solid to me.

What’s my main goal with this launch?

Learning.

I’ve launched products for clients before. I know how they work. And I’ve run them very successfully.

But…

While I am EXTREMELY confident in my ability to write high-converting content, stories, emails and sales pages (hence why I chose to build my course around this)…

I still have a lot to learn about launches.

But, that’s the fun of this “creator” game, eh?

Learning.

Right.

Imma leave it there today.

I hope that provided you some clarity about what I’m working on and how I plan out my brand’s strategy.

If you get even one useful insight about your own brand from this email, I’ll consider that a win.

Talk soon,

Harry

PS. I really enjoyed writing this one.

I remember when I first started out I felt very “in the dark” about what bigger creators ACTUALLY did on a day-to-day basis.

So…
