My 7-figure wake up call

2 days ago I got off the phone with a multi 7-figure entrepreneur.

He works in the digital course space and has just exited a company doing nearly $2M/yr with 60% margins.

How did we get in touch?

Through a tweet.

I announced I was creating my flagship course.

He reached out because he liked my stuff and was building his own personal brand.

We chatted in the DMs for a bit.

And then we decided “fuck it, let’s hop on a call together”.

Now, I won’t bore you with all the details because the call went on for over an hour.

But here’s the thing I realised…

When you talk to people multiple steps ahead of you in the game,
you start to see life through their eyes.

You start to realise how SMALL you’ve been thinking up to this point.

Because the potential on the internet is beyond comprehension.

If you can learn to

  • Hijack attention by appealing to people’s problems

  • Hold that attention by highlighting their pain with emotion

  • Convert that attention into sales with logic

Then the scope to build your brand is infinite.

But so many people fail.

And while talking to this fellow entrepreneur, we both came to the same conclusion as to WHY people fail.

In our minds, it comes down to 3 things:

1) Systems don’t work (unless…)

Think about the last time you bought a course.

It gave you systems, instructions and processes.

It explained how to implement them.

It seemed to make sense when you were reading the course.

But could you actually do it in REAL LIFE?

Probably not.

Because the course not only needs to teach you how to implement the systems.

It needs to reprogram your entire mind and teach you how to THINK in general.

2) Network density

We all know our network is important.

But people get this wrong.

They think this means a bigger network is better.

But that’s not the case.

Instead, what you want to focus on is network density.

You want to limit your time and only give people access to people who are on or above your level.

This doesn’t mean talking down or ignoring people who are earlier in the game.

But it means recognising that the people you interact on a daily basis are the people who program your mind.

Keep hanging around with beginners and you will continue to act like a beginner.

Find a way to connect with people on or above your level and you will start to experience growth through osmosis.

Building a powerful network is NOT optional.

It is mandatory.

And the only way to do this is to get a solid grasp of human psychology and learning how other people think so that you can position yourself as something that they want.

This is a skill.

It comes with practice.

And it can be learned by even the most introverted of folks.

3) Skill development is king

Just like money, skills compound.

The more time and money you invest in yourself early on in the game, the further you will go.

Courses.

Mentors.

Masterminds.

All these things which might feel like an “expense” to you right now only seem that way because you’re not seeing the bigger picture.

And the sooner you can shift that perspective and start gleaming lessons from people who have earned them through years of practice and EXPERIENCE, the further you will go.

Zoom out from the day to day.

Stop stressing about your tweet that flopped.

And start focusing on turning YOURSELF into the most powerful digital asset you can be.

That was my wake up call.

And that is what I will be doubling down for the latter half of 2024.

Talk soon,

Harry
