the 2 best 𝕏 bios to reach 1k followers

“What should my 𝕏 bio be?”

I get this question ALL the time.

Because, as is the case with most stuff 𝕏, people have been given a lot of shitty advice in the past.

So I thought I would clear up all the 𝕏 bio confusion with this email today.

You see, you have 2 options for writing a great bio on 𝕏.

And the one you pick will depend on how far along you are with your 𝕏 journey.

So here are the 2 most effective bio patterns for maximising the number of people who follow you on 𝕏:

Bio Option #1 (Beginner): Past → Future → Present

Here’s how this works.

1) Start by telling people the life you’re leaving behind

Tell people what your life currently looks like:

• Do you work a 9-5?

• Are you at school / university?

• Are you a dad with a wife and a couple of kids?

This will give people a story they can relate to, which is exactly what they need in order to follow you.

2) Then, tell people where you’re going in the future

What do you want to achieve on 𝕏?

• Gaining 10k followers?

• Build a $10k/month brand?

• Inspire a generation of young men who feel lost?

Make your future goals as ambitious as possible.

People become much more invested in people with big goals because it’s so much more inspiring and interesting for them to follow along with.

3) Finally, explain what you’re doing to get there

This is crucial.

Because people will only follow you if they sense that you are going to help them on their own journey.

So say something like “Sharing everything I learn along the way to help you achieve the same”.

Instantly, this suggests you’re going to be providing useful information to someone that wants to achieve the same transformation as you.

This makes people SO much more likely to follow along with your journey.

Now, as with all things, this is easiest to understand with an example.

So here’s the bio I used for my first 4-5 weeks on 𝕏 that helped me gain a ton of followers super quickly:

This bio structure is so powerful because it shows a TRANSFORMATION that someone can buy into when they click on your profile.

Because there’s going to be a million other people on a similar journey to you.

When this was my bio I used to get SO many DM’s from people telling me they were also on a similar journey to 10k followers.

And this instantly made it way easier to build the powerful network I have now that helps me grow every day on 𝕏 without even trying.

The past → future → present format is an incredibly powerful bio structure if you’re early on in your 𝕏 journey and haven’t yet figured out exactly what you want to do with your brand.

However, as you may have noticed, this is no longer my bio on 𝕏.

And that’s because once you HAVE figured out your unique brand positioning, there is a more powerful structure you can use.

So lets move on to option 2 for your 𝕏 bio:

Bio Option #2 (Advanced): Brand Mantra + How you can help

Any of you who have read my recent tweets will know I’m super big on creating what I call a “brand mantra”.

This is a single word or catchphrase which people can immediately associate with your brand.

For example, Audrey Lo has “community”.

Kieran Drew has “magnetic writing”.

And I have “Common sense”.

Now, how you come up with this brand mantra is a topic for a later date.

But once you have one, the easiest and most effective bio to use is to simply state your brand mantra, and then follow this up with one sentence about how you can help people on 𝕏.

And again, I’m just going to use my current 𝕏 bio to show you an example of how this looks:

Super simple.

Super clean.

Super effective.

This immediately makes people remember my brand mantra (it’s the first thing they read on my bio!) and also tells them exactly how I can help them.

If you’re a bit further along in your 𝕏 journey and know what you want to do with your brand, this is the exact format I recommend.

Right.
