$15k/month. What next?
Yesterday I hit my first $15k month.
And before I dive into anything else in this email, I want to say one thing to you guys:
Thank you.
I genuinely enjoy writing these emails to you guys every single day and helping you solve your problems.
And hitting this big milestone really wouldn’t have been possible without all you guys.
You really are awesome.
And you’re the reason I continue to pump out these long, winding emails like a fucking lunatic every single day.
But it has got me thinking…
What should I do next with my brand?
Because right now, I feel like I’ve got two options:
Option 1: Aggressively scale to $20-$30k/month (any beyond) over the next 3-6 months.
Option 2: Be sensible, fix up some of the holes in my business (the ones I’ve been putting off fixing for a while), use this time to get better at copywriting and “play the long game” like everyone tells you to.
And, in all honesty, while option 1 does sound appealing…
…I’m not really sure now is the right time for me.
Because (and I’ll be real with you all here), summer is on the horizon.
The sun will be beaming.
Festival season will be in full swing.
And the ever-so-sweet taste of Strawberry and Lime Kopparbergs on a warm summer’s day will soon be an all-too-common occurrence.
And I have ZERO intentions of spending the 2 months of half-decent weather we get in the UK shut inside like a fucking hermit just to hit some arbitrary revenue number.
Could I do it? Sure.
Do I want to do it? Absolutely not.
I’ve already proven to myself that I can make money for myself and others online (I’ve earned my clients over $65k in the last 3 months alone).
And that skillset is now there forever.
Which is why, for the next 3-6 months, I want to shift my focus…
…and I’m going to be focusing on the 3 reasons I became a creator first place:
To have complete control my time
To spend 90% of my time creating cool shit
To help as many people as possible to do the same
Those are the goals I want to continue pushing towards.
Because earning money is nice.
But having time freedom, creating dope content and helping other people while ENJOYING life is a whole lot nicer (if you ask me).
I still have grand goals for my brand.
I still want to build this into a $50k/month (or more) business.
But I’d rather do this the right way than rush it and fuck myself up.
So, here’s what I have planned over the next few months…
1/ Skill development
It feels like I’ve been in this game a lifetime now.
But, in reality, it’s only been 6 months.
There’s STILL so much I don’t know (in my experience, anyone who pretends they know everything is full of shit and should be avoided like the plague).
And if there’s one thing I’m 100% sure will grow my brand long term, it’s continuing to invest in becoming a better copywriter.
This might mean reading more copy.
This might mean investing in mentors.
This might mean getting more exposure in the DTC space.
All I can say for certain is that I’ll be continuing to prioritise skill development above EVERYTHING else.
Because that’s what will help me continue creating better content.
Because that’s what will help me continue helping people.
And because, frankly, that’s what I enjoy doing.
Which brings me onto my next goal…
2/ Build a full-scale community
When I got into this “writing online” game, my goal was simply to make as much money as possible.
And while I’m certainly not running a charity here, my focus has shifted.
I want to help as many people as possible to also quit their 9-5s (or avoid getting trapped in one) and become full-time creators.
That’s become something of my “mission statement” in the last few months.
And I think one of the best ways to help as many people as possible is to prioritise the big C word we keep on hearing all about (no, not that one you filthy animal):
Community.
I’ve already launched two successful cohorts with 12+ members.
And people are getting great results (one of the guys just landed a $7.5k deal with a simple Google Doc for his offer).
But I want to expand this.
I want to turn it into a full-scale community.
That, to me, has the most potential to spark real change in people’s lives, make the journey as enjoyable as possible, and also is just a fun as fuck business model if you ask me.
I won’t be launching this for at least a couple of months (I want to get it right).
But it is in the works.
So stay tuned for that.
Lastly, I think it’s about time I built my first course…
3/ Launch my first digital course
I know everyone says “You’re not Dan Koe. Courses only work if you’re a 100k+ account!”
To which I say…
So what?
Who gives a fuck?
If you want to create a course because you think you’d enjoy it and can help even 1 person, then why the hell not?
And so that’s what I’m gonna do.
But there’s a problem…
99% of courses fucking suck.
There’s zero value.
They’re full of fluff.
They’re basically just a big, repurposed tweet.
So I want to do things differently…
I want to build a course which ACTUALLY helps people.
How?
By creating a course not on my own, but with you guys.
I want YOU to shape the content.
I want YOU to decide what goes into it.
And I want YOU to get as much out of it as possible.
This isn’t going to be a course created by one creator.
It’s going to be a course created by many creators.
And that’s how I’m going to make this the most high-value course you guys have ever laid eyes on.
I’ll be releasing more details in the next couple days about how I’m planning to do this.
But just know I’ve got something good cooking for you guys.
Talk soon,
Harry
